Season 4 episode 15

Synopsis

Morgan is fantasizing about the CAT Squad (Clandestine Attack Team Squad) and sees Sarah, Zondra, Amy, and Carina as a Charlie’s Angels-like team.

He and Chuck are in the Buy More, talking about the engagement party and Chuck’s attempt to find some friends to invite for Sarah.

Chuck has accessed details about the CAT Squad from a CIA database; he wants to invite them to their engagement party. After Chuck contacts Carina, she calls the others to share the news of Sarah’s engagement.

Sarah tells Ellie about her anxiety regarding her family and friend situation.

Chuck is setting up for company and tells Sarah they are expecting the Cat Squad; he invited them.

A helicopter is heard overhead as Chuck and Sarah are discussing the Cats; the CAT Squad has arrived to take Sarah off for a bachelorette party.

The next morning, Chuck wakes to find Sarah, still dressed, in bed beside him. The rest of the squad is asleep around the apartment, with Carina sleeping with Morgan. He wakes up to find Carina in his bed while Alex arrives at his front door. He has to talk to her outside so she doesn’t see the women, Carina particularly. Carina introduces herself after opening the front door.

During breakfast, Carina intentionally makes Morgan uncomfortable. The Cats leave and Sarah’s Porsche blows up when they use the remote to turn off the alarm. A piece of the shrapnel injures Carina’s leg. Chuck flashes on the shrapnel and asks the women about Augusto Gaez.

At Castle, they have a call with Beckman, who briefs them about Gaez, along with the Cats. Beckman sends them all after Gaez, with Carina and Morgan at Castle and everyone else tracking Gaez down.

They are off to Rio. Sarah tells Chuck it was Gaez that they were tracking when she discovered a tracking device on Zondra’s boot, leading to suspicions of her being a traitor. The team hasn’t trusted each other since then.

Gaez receives a call informing him the Squad is on their way. Zondra and Sarah have tension left from the distrust between them. Chuck, Morgan and Casey will support the mission.

They arrive at the party in Rio where Gaez is expected. While Casey monitors the women, Chuck is researching the mission where things went bad between them.

Casey tells Chuck about his issues with Alex and Kathleen; he is not going to talk to Kathleen because she has moved on. The girls spot Gaez while Morgan takes care of Carina in Castle, again reminding her that he is taken. Beckman interrupts his call with Alex to tell him to get to work.

The Cats have been set up and are captured. Held by Gaez, he invites them into his organization while Chuck finds them through a skylight and positions himself to save them. Casey is in the party while Chuck is on the roof. Gaez pulls his gun on Sarah, but she has cut through her bonds and holds a knife to his throat.

Chuck breaks through the glass skylight, shooting his tranq gun, while Gaez flees before Sarah can find out who the mole was. Sarah yells at Chuck for interrupting her.

Back in Castle, Beckman tells Team Bartowski that there is a traitor in their midst. Someone tipped off Gaez.

Morgan meets Alex but Carina has planted lipstick on his shirt and Alex is upset, she leaves.

Sarah is still upset with Chuck, she tells him to stop helping and throws him out of Castle.

Sarah and Zondra spar in Castle while discussing the mission where things went wrong. Meanwhile, Casey and Amy interrogate Gaez. Zondra and Sarah realize the traitor is Amy and at the same time, she drugs Casey and releases Gaez.

Amy subdues Sarah and Zondra, inviting them to join her and Gaez but then knocks them out when they refuse.

Chuck talks to Ellie while taking the Cats luggage out of the apartment. He tells her Sarah is upset at him for interfering. She tells him he doesn’t need to fix everything, just back off and support her.

Morgan confronts Carina and tells her to back off, he loves Alex.

Amy knocks Morgan out while Gaez takes Carina out. Sarah comes to and calls Chuck, telling him Amy and Gaez are coming up to the Buy More. He is there with the luggage.

They can’t help; they are locked in Castle.

Amy and Gaez pursue Chuck with Sarah helping him by watching the surveillance video in the store. Chuck fights them using items from the store, but won’t hurt Amy. She knocks the keys to the front door out of his pocket and grabs them to run. The Cats have escaped from Castle and take her out.

Zondra and Sarah apologize to each other in Castle as they recover from the fight.

Sarah asks Zondra and Carina to be bridesmaids at the wedding.

Chuck and Sarah dress for the engagement party; Sarah asks Chuck to understand her feelings about her past. She thanks him for helping her with the things that she needs help with.

Alex arrives at the party; she and Morgan talk. She breaks up with him, telling him she can’t take being lied to. Morgan explains his insecurity and tells her he loves her. She takes him back right there. Carina comes over and apologizes.

Ellie and Sarah agree to have some girl talk about Sarah’s family issues and Sarah asks Ellie to be her maid of honor.

Points of Interest

• A very appropriate episode for Valentine’s Day.
• Both Role Models and CAT Squad have Morgan’s fantasy as an opening. An easy way to pay tribute to the TV shows they are styled after.
• Charlie’s Angels tribute is the perfect format for introducing Sarah’s friends to the sory.
• Chuck learns that he has to stop trying to fix Sarah’s issues. Ellie gives him a valuable lesson about a romantic partnership.
• Charlie’s Angels only had three members; Amy was the expendable one.
• Sarah’s Porsche is destroyed; enter the Lotus.
• Carina’s interference in the personal relationships comes to an end. She accepts that spies can be in love.
• Ellie can’t be a maid of honor; she will be the matron of honor.
