Synopsis

Game night with Ellie, Awesome, Chuck, Sarah and Morgan. They are playing ‘Know Ya’ and Morgan shows his possessiveness and jealousy trying to beat Sarah with his knowledge of Chuck and his life. The final question is in relation to Bryce Larkin and makes for an uncomfortable moment for Chuck and Sarah. While the game is being played we see they are being spied on from outside the apartment and Sarah notices someone is there.

Chuck and Sarah hold hands as they leave then quickly drop them as the door closes. They are still being watched but Chuck has questions, and Sarah encourages him to ask. When he asks about her relationship with Bryce she says they were just partners and nothing else. Chuck asks about their cover regarding sex, she tells him they are taking it slow.

In her hotel room, Sarah is feeding her goldfish and getting ready to shower when she notices a ninja-clad intruder in the reflection from the shower handle. A fight ensues and ends when Sarah’s fish is knocked over and the intruder rescues the fish. The attacker is her friend, Carina, and she has come to ask Sarah to help her with a mission. The next morning Carina is at Chuck’s apartment, and he flashes on her. Then he tells Casey and Sarah in Casey’s apartment. They are being briefed by Beckman and Graham on the mission Carina is involved in. Chuck is assigned to help them. They are to secure a diamond as the object of the mission. Chuck is introduced to Carina as an analyst.

Carina is quite intrigued by Chuck, and Sarah intercepts her heading to the BuyMore before she can speak to him. Morgan’s sudden interest in Carina leads Sarah to arrange a double date for them. Chuck blurts out information during the double date that an analyst wouldn’t know so Carina lures him to her hotel that night by faking a computer emergency. She comes on to Chuck and, while he resists her, she divulges that Sarah and Bryce were a romantic pair.

During the pre-mission briefing, Chuck is reassured by Sarah that Carina can’t be trusted. When he tells her about the Bryce comment she is unable to deny it and Chuck walks out. At the mission site Chuck, Sarah and Carina find the diamond. Carina improvises on the spot, and they end up stealing the diamond. Carina takes off with it on a jet ski. Casey following her causes her to sneak the diamond into Morgan’s messenger bag for safe keeping.

The owner of the diamond kidnaps Sarah. She asks Chuck for help while Carina is trying to steal the diamond back at his apartment. Carina agrees to help Chuck rescue Sarah and their confrontation ends in Chuck mailing the diamond accidentally.

On their post-mission debrief, Beckman and Graham congratulate the team as the diamond arrives at their office in DC.

Carina tells Chuck she only came on to him because she likes to take what Sarah wants..

Chuck goes to Sarah’s apartment with a pizza and asks for something real about her. She is silent, and as he walks away she says her middle name, Lisa.

Points of Interest

• Chuck vs the Speedo was the original title, then the actor playing Payman Alahi was cast and his body hair prompted the title change.
• Sarah says Morgan is the Intersect for Chuck
• Sarah and Carina exchange dialog in Polish and Swedish, the native tongue for the two actors. Carina- “If I throw you the keys, will you drop them?” Sarah- “Only if you throw it like your mommy.”
• Sarah’s middle name of Lisa is on Chuck’s Tron chart in ‘Lethal Weapon.’ It is implied that he did hear her.
• According to Sarah’s video log, that Casey delivers to her in the series finale, their pizza dinner date at Sarah’s hotel room was day 21 of her assignment.
• During the final date of the episode, Chuck and Sarah’s theme is playing in the background for the first time.
• Sarah rubs Chuck’s neck during their double date with Carina and Morgan. When Chuck melts, you see the first indication that Chuck has a real attraction for her.
• First use of an iPhone in the series. We see Sarah using hers when she takes a photo of Casey.
• The name of the diamond, Nadan-i-noor, is translated ‘fool of light’ in Persian.
