The vault speech is from “Chuck Vs. The Three Words, Episode 2 from Season 3. Sarah had asked Chuck to run away with her to avoid Chuck going to CIA training. The section on Carina’s thumb drive that Sarah watches
Sarah, I don’t want to regret not telling you everything I need to tell you. I’m not a normal spy, you know that. I’m a regular guy that works in a Buy More. The decisions that I made in Prague; I know what it looks like, I know that it looks like I choose being a spy over being with you but that’s not what happened. How I felt about you is real, very, very real. And I know that you know how I felt about you for a long time. When Carina told me what you said, those three words that I waited to hear for so long. But, Sarah, I know that you’re probably very hurt. You’re probably hurt that I didn’t run away with you in Prague.
But, Sarah, I know that you’re probably very hurt. You’re probably hurt that I didn’t run away with you in Prague. I did that and I’m sorry. You have to know that you were everything that I ever wanted. But how could I do that, how could I run away with you, how could I be with you knowing what I turned my back on.That what I had in my head could help a lot of people. And you’re the one who taught me, that being a spy is about choosing something bigger. It’s about putting aside your own personal feelings for the greater good. And that’s what I choose, I choose to be a spy for my friends and my family and you. I choose to be a spy because ..Sarah, I love you.
The sentence in the video Karl shows to Carina
I’m not like Carina, a cold-hearted spy, who throws the word Love around.
The sentence in both videos
Sarah, I love you…
The Three Words, I love you, are said by Chuck. He says that Sarah told Carina that she loved him. Not actually a real thing; Chuck interprets what Carina said to him at the party when she said that Sarah is cold to him because she loves him.
But I’m not resting on technicalities. The truth is out. Unfortunately, there is still too much standing in the way but seeing Chuck’s explanation helps Sarah, and the fans, forgive what Chuck did at the Prague train station.
Excellent!
That was a fun piece to research. It was one of the details of the show that always interested me.
Nicely done! I had not caught all of the nuance before. Thanks!
